Bittersweet

“You have disappointed me," Set's voice boomed through the chamber, causing his minion to flinch “you had one job and failed me miserably!”

"I am sorry, my lord," Nightmera whispered, her eyes downcast “I’ve tried but got stopped by humans who have powers.”

"No excuses you have the power of the galaxies in you hands not to mention my powers!" Set growled but his minion simply kept her gaze down. “You will suffer the consequences of your failure."

Just as Set raised his hand to punish Nightmera, a bright glow filled the chamber, Set and Nightmera turned to see a magical globe pulsating with energy. Set narrowed his eyes, curious as to the source of the disturbance.

"What is the meaning of this?" Set demanded, Nightmera hesitating to respond and unsure of what was happening.

Before she could respond, the globe's glow dimmed, and Set's attention was drawn elsewhere. In the globe, he saw a Pegasus and a Unicorn in their human forms. They were entering a remote woodland, unaware of the danger that lurked in the shadows.

"Nightmera, fetch those two creatures for me," Set commanded, a wicked smile playing on his lips.

Nightmera hesitated, a flicker of doubt in her eyes. But she knew better than to defy Set. With a nod, she vanished into the shadows, determined to carry out her master's bidding.

Meanwhile:

“We’ve been walking for hours!” Gold Sky complained, his voice bouncing off the trunks and echoing through the otherwise peaceful forest. His brown eyes, reflecting the moonlight, were filled with mock despair as he dramatically threw his hands in the air.

Storm Blazer, a man with deep blue eyes and an infectious laugh, couldn't help but chuckle at his friend's theatrics. “Gold Sky, you dramatic soul! We’ve only been at this for five minutes.”

Gold Sky rolled his eyes theatrically, a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth, "Five minutes, five hours, what’s the difference?"

Both of them, once ponies of Equestria, a pegasus and a unicorn, had been transformed into humans.

Back home, they were famous actors in the pony version of Power Rangers Samurai: 'Elemental Mystic Harmony'. But here, in the human world, they were on a strangely mystic quest of their own.

Their mission was to find Dorota, an alicorn Storm Blazer had met in Equestria. Gold Sky, however, was far from convinced.

“You mean to tell me,” Gold Sky began, his tone dripping with sarcasm, “that we left our comfortable lives back in Equestria to find an alicorn who you met once, and now we’re supposed to find her here, in the human world?”

Storm Blazer’s gaze turned serious, his brows furrowing as he locked eyes with Gold Sky. “Yes, you are. Because it’s the truth.”

"Storm," Gold Sky's voice was dry, almost a whisper, "I swear if this Alicorn quest of yours gets us killed, I'm going to come back as a ghost and haunt you for eternity."

Storm Blazer couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of the threat. “you know you didnt have to come with me, but you did now your sealing with the consequences."

Gold Sky and Storm Blazer laughed as the black haired man stood back up but a glint in the distance caught Gold Sky's eye.

He bent down and picked up a small gemstone - an Aurora Opal.

He held it up to the light, the gem sparkling with all the colors of the dawn.

"Storm, look at this," Gold Sky called out, his voice filled with awe. Storm Blazer approached and took one look at the opal.

"Woah incredible, but why would someone just leave something so valuable on the ground?" The brown haired man asked as Gold Sky shrugged.

"I am just confused as you are Amigo, maybe-"

Before Gold Sky could reply, a chilling wind swept through the forest, causing the trees to shudder.

An eerie silence descended, and the woods, once filled with the soft sounds of night, fell unnaturally quiet.

Then, a soft rustle came from the bushes, growing louder until it was a cacophony of sound.

Suddenly, from the shadows, emerged a figure, a creature of the night, her eyes glowing with an unholy light.

Nightmera, a former Kwami, transformed into a Nighlok by the chaos god Set, had found them.

Storm Blazer and Gold Sky instinctively stepped back as Nightmera advanced.

Her gaze was locked onto the Aurora Opal in Gold Sky’s hand, her eyes reflecting the gem's bright colors.

"Give me the opal," she hissed, her voice echoing through the silent forest.

Gold Sky, although frightened, tightened his grip on the stone, his eyes narrowed. "Not a chance."

Nightmera growled, her form rippling as she prepared to attack.

With a roar, Nightmera lunged at them. Storm Blazer and Gold Sky barely had time to react.

They dove to the side, narrowly avoiding Nightmera's attack.

Gold Sky quickly scrambled to his feet, his heart pounding in his chest. "Storm, we need to do something!"

Storm Blazer nodded, his gaze fixed on Nightmera. "I know, but what?"

The two friends, despite their fear, stood their ground dodging her attacks before managing to out run her and found a safe place to hide.

As Nightmera prowled through the underbrush, her eyes glowing in the darkness, Storm Blazer and Gold Sky pressed themselves against the rough bark of a tree, desperately trying to stifle their breaths.

The Aurora Opal, cradled in Gold Sky's hands, emitted a soft, pulsating glow, casting a dim light around them.

"Storm, what in the world is happening?" Gold Sky whispered, his voice filled with a mixture of fear and confusion.

Storm Blazer shook his head, his eyes flickering between Nightmera and the opal. "I have no idea, Gold Sky. But I dont think she'll be of any help."

Suddenly, the glow from the opal intensified, bathing the area in a brilliant, otherworldly light.

Storm Blazer and Gold Sky shielded their eyes, their hearts pounding with uncertainty.

"Whoa, what's going on?!" Gold Sky exclaimed.

As the light subsided, a small, ethereal figure hovered in the air before them.

It was a Kwami, with translucent wings and a gentle, radiant presence, named Spectra.

Spectra smiled warmly, her voice soothing yet filled with urgency. "I am Spectra, a Kwami, and the Aurora Opal is a Miraculous. Gold Sky, you are now its chosen guardian."

Gold Sky blinked in astonishment, struggling to comprehend the fantastical turn of events. "A Miraculous? Chosen guardian? What does that even mean?"

Storm Blazer's gaze flickered between Spectra and the approaching Nightmera, his mind racing.

As Nightmera closed in on them, Spectra's expression turned serious. "Gold Sky, please jaut trust me."

As Gold Sky nodded, Spectra smile and spoke once more "now repeat after me: 'Spectra, shine on!'"

Gold Sky hesitated, uncertainty clouding his features but taking a deep breath, Gold Sky looked at Spectra and nodded. "Alright, here goes nothing. Spectra, shine on!"

A brilliant light erupted from the Aurora Opal, enveloping Nightmera in its radiant glow.

She let out a piercing cheer of glee as she was sucked into the Miraculous, Gold Sky vanishing in the bright light.

Storm Blazer covered his eyes in annoyance of the repetition of events but the moment the light faded, the brown haired man stared in awe.

Gold Sky stood transformed. His attire had changed, adorned with a magnificent costume that shimmered with the opalescent hues of the Aurora Opal.

A mask concealed his features, and he felt a newfound strength coursing through his being—a power unlike anything he had ever known.

Storm Blazer gaped in awe at his friend's stunning transformation. "Gold Sky, you're... you're.... a..... a superhero!"
